Sunbury Kangaroos are on the hunt for a new senior football coach.

The Kangaroos, who finished sixth this year, decided earlier this week that they would advertise the role for next season.

Kangaroos’ president Allan Walters said the committee voted in favour of advertising the role and seeing what coaches were out there.

This year’s coach, Jarrod Dixon, told Star Weekly that he wouldn’t reapply for the job.

Dixon, who returned to the club last year, coached the senior side to seventh and sixth in his two seasons in charge.

The Kangaroos were knocked out by Diggers Rest in the opening round of the Riddell District Football League finals this year.

The role is one of three the Kangaroos are advertising.

They are also after under-18.5 and women’s coaches.

The club is looking for applicatants who hold a minimum level one coaching accreditation, or willing to obtain one.

The successful applicants will have a solid knowledge of all areas of the game and drive and enthusiasm to develop the playing group.

Applications and enquires can be made to Mick Streiff at mstreiff@broadsport.com.au or 0423 402606.

Applications close September 25.
