Rupertswood enjoys the spoils

Last week we looked at some of the success stories from Riddell District Football Netball League’s junior football competitions. This week we turn our attention to the girls on the netball court.

Rupertswood’s junior netballers had a season they won’t forget with the club winning four of the six Riddell District Netball League premierships on offer.

The Sharks won the under-11, under-15 Beatson and Turner, and under-17 premierships, while their under-13 Turner side finished runners up.

The under-11 team were the biggest winners on grand final day with the side beating Woodend 24-18.

Reese Sutton and Gabriella Smith were best on court for the Sharks.

Isabella Galea and Madison Pane were best for the Sharks in the 19-17 grand final win.

In the under-15 Turner grand final was a thriller with the Sharks getting up by a goal, defeating Melton South 21-20.

Maiya Kennedy and Hannah Keane were the standouts for the Sharks.
