It was a big weekend for Romsey Golf Club as it celebrated its Centennial weekend.
The club celebrated with three days of golf, with plenty of memories and good golf shared across the weekend.
Day one of the competition, as a two-player Ambrose competition.
The first day was held in perfect golf weather.
Overall winners on the day, Ethan Bray and Ben Sullivan who combined well and hit some great drives and sunk some awesome putts to record a great nett score of 67.
On Saturday, it was a pairs competition.
Players came from across Dalhousie and a few of the closer metropolitan clubs. Mick and Josh Squire won on 45 points, ahead of Scott Williams and Josh Squire.
On Sunday, there was a 24 hole stroke competition.
Players came from Tocumwal, Rich River, Romsey, Lancefield, Mt Macedon, Broadford, Euroa and Hidden Valley.
The front 12 holes saw a-graders Jim Hynes, from Mt Macedon, and Romsey’s own Mal Mottram tied at the halfway mark.
Broadford’s Mary Campbell had a strong grip on the women’s event with a 59.
The second half of the competition saw a few people’s scores blow out while a few of the visitors moved up the leaders table.
Jim Hynes and Mary Campbell were named the men’s and women’s champions.
