Thefts from cars reported across Macedon Ranges

Up to 12 cars were broken into during a seven-hour crime spree which spread from Malmsbury to Keilor Park on Monday.

Detective Leading Senior Constable Wade Andrews, of Macedon Ranges Crime Investigation Unit, said about 12 incidents of thefts from cars were reported yesterday morning.

He said cars in Malmsbury, Kyneton, Gisborne and Keilor Park were broken into some time between midnight and 7am on Monday.

He could not confirm if all the incidents were linked.

The incidents included theft from locked and unlocked cars.

Gisborne police said they had also received reports of thefts from cars in the Gisborne area during the early hours of Sunday, October 22, and Sunday, October 15.

Residents have taken to social media to report various theft from cars in the past week.

“Lock your cars and don’t leave valuables in them,” one resident warned on Facebook.
