Did somebody say it’s time for a walk? This duo, Leo (left) and Sylvia, are keen as mustard … and owner Lucy can’t wait. She’s among thousands of greyhound lovers gearing up for a big day out at Lancefield Park.
Registrations are now open for the Great Global Greyhound Walk in June, the aim being to highlight the joys of these playful pets and raise money for the Greyhound Safety Net – a charity organisation that works tirelessly to rehome greyhounds that have been rejected by the dog racing industry.
Organisers Kate Christie and Vicki Chandler say the walk is open to all dogs and their humans.
“It’s a sociable walk around the lovely Lancefield Park with a barbecue provided afterwards, for those who wish to socialise,” Ms Chandler said.
Her own dog, Buzz, will be the event’s “ambassadog” and Ms Chandler says she would love to see as many pups as possible join the pack.
The Great Global Greyhound Walk will be held at Lancefield Park from 10.30am until 2.30pm on June 11.
