IN FOCUS: Bolton’s for the top ride of your life

Almost all the staff at Bolton Motorcycles and Power Equipment are born and bred in Kyneton. They love the country life and like to keep things low-key despite the popularity of their ever-growing store.

Co-founder Bruce Bolton says he has a great staff retention rate, with many working for the popular motorcycle and power equipment business for more than 10 years.

“I think it’s due to having fun on the floor and looking after the staff,” he says.

The team members at Bolton Motorcycles love dealing with the locals they’ve known for years and helping new riders get into their favourite past-time – riding bikes across Kyneton.

Bruce and his wife Toni started the business 33 years ago and now employ
18 experienced people, including their son, Alex, a multi-title winning off-road racer who is more than happy to help you find the perfect off-road bike or to help with servicing.

Bolton Motorcycles have dirt and road bikes on the retail floor as well as power equipment such as ride-on lawn
mowers, brush cutters, generators and more.

Power equipment brands in stock are Husqvarna, Toro, Greenfield, Masport and Victa.

In 2016, Bolton’s was the fifth-largest retailer of KTM motorcycles in Australia out of 65 nationally.

Bolton’s also has an in-house workshop with resident bike and power equipment technicians/mechanics Ashley, Will, Jye, Anthony and Beau dedicated to getting your ride running the best it ever has.

Brendan, Tony, Chris, Ken are employed specifically for power equipment servicing.

“This time of year we can hardly keep up with demand,” Bruce says.

“Grass cutting equipment servicing is always really busy this time of year.”

Locals say this is a great place to come back to time and time again, as the staff love what they do. Their enthusiasm is infectious and their knowledge, second to none.
