Nature-loving residents who live in Macedon and Mt Macedon are invited to discuss re-forming the local Landcare group, which might be coming back after half a decade.
Locals interested in the natural environment, Landcare or sustainable farming are all welcome to the meeting running 9.30am to 11am, November 12 at Jubilee Hall in Macedon.
Landcare is about bringing the community together to discuss land management issues and to work on solutions to address any concerns – the meeting will discuss what a group for this area could do in the future, and what starting one entails.
Upper Deep Creek Landcare Network Landcare facilitator Clare Watson said it would be great to see the Macedon and Mt Macedon Landcare group re-form.
“It will be fantastic to see the local community come together to re-establish a Landcare group for the Macedon and Mount Macedon areas, and I am available to provide support to the new group,” she said.
The area is a delightful place to live, with all its lush bushland, biodiversity and farming, but faces significant land management issues like weeds and pest animals.
Upper Deep Creek Landcare Network will be delivering the meeting in partnership with Macedon Ranges council.
“Landholders can make a positive contribution to the area’s natural environment by getting involved in Landcare to help address these issues,” an Upper Deep Creek Landcare Network statement said.
If residents are interested in attending the meeting have been asked to RSVP for catering purposes by Thursday, November 9, via via udc.landcare.facilitator@gmail.com or call 0409 142 110.
