Divine Divas in Belgium bid

The Divine Divas of Sunbury are taking their singing talents to Belgium.

The female choir group will compete at the World Choir Games in Belgium in July next
year.

Choir director and founder Adam Przewlocki said the divas competed at the games in China in 2010 and claimed a silver medal. They’re keen to add to their collection.

“They hold the World Choir Games every two years. Next year marks 10 years since our silver medal in China and I thought it was too good of an opportunity to pass,” he said.

About 20 divas will travel to perform in Belgium.

Mr Przewlocki said the ladies are looking forward to the experience and are rehearsing
weekly.

“I’m not going to change too much. They’re all working mums with families so I need to take that into consideration.

“But in the last month, we will ramp it up.

“We are performing in the pop choir category [at the games]. We will be doing a lot of top 40
hits and classic rock pop songs … everything from Katy Perry to Bon Jovi.”

In the lead-up to the games, the divas will be organising various fundraising events to assist
with travelling costs.

“It’s a very big exercise to take a choir group to the other side of the world,” Mr Przewlocki said.

The World Choir Games are on July 5-15, 2020. Details: bit.ly/34uaqxk
