Coaches replacing trains as major power outage limits V/Line services across the state

Coaches are being organised to replace V/Line trains across the state, as a major power outage in the CBD has severely limited the regional train service.

V/Line has advised that it is attempting to “source as many coaches as possible” to replace train services but urged passengers not to use the V/Line service for non-essential travel.

Limited train services have recommenced travel to and from Southern Cross Station about 9.30am, V/Line said in a statement.

Coaches have been dispatched to run from Kyneton Station to Southern Cross Station and one coach has been dispatched to run from Gisborne Station to Southern Cross Station.

There are currently no train services departing from Bendigo, Swan Hill and Echuca until further notice.
