Chance for local business to shine

Sunbury businesses could shine at this year’s Hume City Council Business Awards.

Nominations are open for the awards which reward the achievements of local business across 16 different categories.

Hume mayor Geoff Porter said the awards were an opportunity to recognise the significant contribution to the local economy, employment opportunities and the community.

“The Hume City Council Business Awards identify and acknowledge the businesses in our city that are delivering exceptional service, quality, innovation and that support the economic prosperity of the region,” Cr Porter said.

“We’re looking forward to recognising successful Hume businesses that have made significant accomplishments in the last year.”

There are a range of categories including cafes and restaurants, customer service, diversity, education and workplace learning, export, food manufacturing, human resources and innovation. Other categories include Manufacturing (large and small), new and emerging businesses, professional services, retail, small business, sustainability and tourism and hospitality.

Entries are open to all Hume businesses with a registered ABN.

Nominations for the awards must be received by 5pm on Friday, August 10 with the winners announced at a ceremony on October 25.
