Pausing to remember

Sunbury residents are invited to attend the Sunbury RSL commemoration service and wreath laying ceremony this Remembrance Day at the Monument at Memorial Hall.

The service will be held on Saturday, November 11, from 10.30am to 11am. Secretary Harry Beckwith said anyone from any town is welcome to attend.

“[The service is] paying homage to the troops that served and those that made the ultimate sacrifice. It’s in remembrance of their service,” he said.

“It’s a thirty minute service, it’s short, it’s simple but it’s sincere. We want to say thank you to them for their service.

“We have two students from Salesian College Sunbury to give the address [and] we’ve got children from Goonawarra Primary School singing the Australian and New Zealand national anthems.”
