Core values carried through to every day life

Celebrating 131 years since its foundation in Kyneton, Sacred Heart College is a Catholic co-educational secondary school that provides contemporary, broad-based and outward-facing education for families across the Macedon Ranges and surrounding districts.

College principal Dr Darren Egberts says that, as a medium-sized school with an enrolment of about 800 students, the college has a reputation for achieving excellent VCE and VCAL results for its senior students, with median study scores in recent years of 30-32.

“Sacred Heart College students are privileged to work in partnership with an outstanding group of teachers and learning support staff,” Dr Egberts says.

“Learning and teaching programs are personalised and differentiated, with robust digital resources complementing explicit instruction. The strength of our digital network has been seen in the recent success of the Sacred Heart College Remote Learning program.

“As a Catholic school in the Mercy tradition, we are committed to ensuring that every young person is supported to become the best individual they can be.

“Our core values of compassion, courage, hospitality, justice, service and respect are lived out in our policies, programs and determination to see every Sacred Heart College student flourish.”

‘Enrolment Conversations’ with the principal and SHC students are being held fortnightly via Zoom with the opportunity to explore what a Sacred Heart education means.

Given the challenges of the current COVID-19 pandemic, the enrolment application process for families interested in a prospective 2022 enrolment has been extended, with applications for Year 7, 2022 (students currently in Grade 5) closing on October 5, 2020.

Families are encouraged to call the school directly, or visit the website below.
