Welcome the change of season and blossoming plants with a spring flower show this weekend.
The Kyneton Horticulture Spring Society Spring Flower Show, hosted by the 125-year-old Kyneton Horticulture Society is back for another year.
Society president Nicholas Scott said the two-day spring show, now in its 124th year, is expected to attract more than 1000 visitors.
“It’s one of the longest-running flower shows in Victoria,” he said.
“It will officially be opened by the king and queen of the daffodil festival. There’ll be a real nice cross section of horticulture pursuits.”
The show will highlight a range of daffodils, hellebores, cut flower shrubs, pot plants, cacti and succulents, floral art and vegetables.
A range of plants, grown by Kyneton Horticulture Society members, will be available for sale.
“It’s a good opportunity for people to maybe find a new favourite flower,” Mr Scott said.
“The event fits in nicely with the Kyneton Daffodil and Arts Festival. It can be a bit of a garden weekend.”
The Kyneton Horticulture Society Spring Flower Show will be on Saturday, September 7, between 1-5pm and Sunday, September 8, between 10am-4pm at the Watts Pavilion, Kyneton Showgrounds, 184-194 Mollison Street. Entry fee is $4
