Super time to be a hero

Kids are being invited to transform themselves into superheroes for a day.

Macedon Ranges Running Club is hosting its very first Kids’ Superhero Run – and it’s sure to be a huge leap into worlds of fun.

Children under 12 years can take part in a two-kilometre dash or a four-kilometre run, all while dressed as their favourite superheroes.

Club committee member Michelle Collins said the fun run would be a great day for children and their families.

“This is a free fun run event for the entire Macedon Ranges community,” she said.

“Kids can team up with their school friends or enjoy the run with their parents or carers and siblings.”

Fresh fruit will be available, along with giveaways and prizes, including a family pass to the Royal Melbourne Show, for the best-dressed superheroes.

In the lead-up to the event, the club will be sending out health information.

“We will be engaging participants and their families in a range of health-focused challenges to increase awareness and encourage behaviour change in line with health priority areas,”
Ms Collins said.

“The Kids’ Superhero Run is a fun, free and inclusive event promoting heath and wellbeing in the Macedon Ranges.”

The fun run will be held on Sunday, September 8, at Dixon Field, 50 Robertson Street, Gisborne from 9.30am.

Register for the event online before September 7 at macedonrangesrunningclub.com or macedonrangesrc@gmail.com
