Romsey’s footy field and netball courts will be a sea of pink on Saturday for Romsey Football Netball Club’s eighth annual Pink Day.
Instead of the club’s usual red and black uniform, players will wear a dedicated pink and black version to support the Breast Cancer Network Australia.
The fundraiser’s committee – ‘The Pinkateers’ – is also once again hosting an afternoon tea for more than 100 women to raise money for the breast cancer foundation.
Pinkateer Hope Evans said tickets for the afternoon tea sold out without the club even advertising the event.
She said the community’s consistent support for the annual fundraiser was terrific.
At the event, local women will share how breast cancer has affected their lives.
Pinkateer Rachel Whitehead will donate 40centimetres of her hair to be used to make wigs for cancer survivors, and Lancefield woman Stacey Deimos will shave her head to fundraise for the breast cancer network.
