Book fair

Kyneton Caring Community is holding a book fair to raise funds for its foodbank. KCC foodbank provides support for about 300 families in need in the Macedon Ranges. Hundreds of books will be for sale on Friday, September 22, and Saturday, September 23, from 10am-4pm at 60 Mollison Street, Kyneton.

Magic show

A children’s magic show will take place at the Riddells Creek Community Centre from 11am on Monday, September 25. The hour of entertainment will be followed by a barbecue and the Seniors Committee will be selling devonshire tea.
Families can explore the centre’s new refurbishments and make function inquiries.

The show costs $10 per child.

Calling all volunteers

Woodend Hesket Football Netball Club invites community-minded people with a combined passion and interest in assisting the club’s growth to its annual general meeting. The club welcomes all volunteers. The AGM will take place on Wednesday, October 11, from 7pm at Gilbert Gordon Social Rooms, 1 Davy Street, Woodend.

Celebrating Sunbury’s diversity

Sunbury’s Our Lady of Mount Carmel Youth-group is celebrating Multicultural Day on Sunday, October 1, from 11am at St Anne’s Parish Centre, 101 Riddell Road, Sunbury.

Artist exhibition

The works of local artist Lorna Thrift Brooks are on exhibition at The Gallery Mt Macedon, 684 Mt Macedon Road, until October 1. Gallery hours: Friday to Tuesday 10am-4pm.

Training for young people

Woodend Neighbourhood House is putting on classes for young people to get first-aid or food handling certificates during the term break. A food handling course for youth aged 16 years and over will run on Monday, October 2, from 10am-4pm.

A first-aid course for young people
aged 14 years and over will take place on Tuesday, October 3, from 10am-4.30pm.
