Sunbury is hitting home-runs in the softball world.

Indeed, a quarter of the state’s 12 years and under boys softball team chosen to compete at the Pacific School Games in December will be made up of Sunbury residents.

Salesian College student Lachlan Caplin, Killara Primary School pupil Matthew Bedwell and Braemar College student Tyler Whorlow-Kenny have all been selected to represent Victoria at the competition.

The boys are training every week in Waverley in preparation for the competition in Adelaide.

It’s the second time that Lachlan has made it into the team. He said he was very excited and proud to represent Victoria.

“It’s feeling a bit surreal that we get to play against so many different teams as well as see the other sports, including international competitors,” Lachlan said.
