 Suicide prevention walk

Macedon Ranges Suicide Prevention Action Group welcomes all community members to its Prevention Walk on Sunday, September 10. The walk will start from the Woodend Children’s Park in Nicholson Street. Registration starts at 8.30am.

Gisborne spring fair

The Anglican Parish of Gisborne will host its annual spring fair on Saturday, September 2, from 10am-2pm on the corner of Fisher and Brantome streets with rides, an animal farm, a barbecue, Devonshire teas and books, fruit and fresh produce for sale.

 

Growing vegetables

The Sunbury Community Garden Group is seeking new members keen on gardening and who enjoy growing their vegetables organically.

Father’s Day at Duneira

Duneira at Mt Macedon has activities planned for Father’s Day on Sunday, September 3. The history of this hill station during the past 140 years will be shared during a guided house tour and morning tea. Woodend artist Mary Larnach-Jones will discuss the Greek island Corfu through the eyes of an artist and there’ll be an exhibition of photographs.

Rose Garden Working Bee

A working bee will be held at the Alister Clark Memorial Rose Garden (Green Street, Bulla) on Friday, September 1 from 9am-1pm. Please bring boots and gloves. All welcome

Kyneton Antique & Vintage Fair

The 21st annual Kyneton Antique & Vintage Fair will take place at Kyneton Town Hall this weekend. There’ll be live local music from 5-8pm on Friday. The fair will also be open from 10am-5pm on Saturday and from 10am-4pm on Sunday. Admission is $7 for adults. All funds raised go to the Kyneton museum for conservation works and the development of new projects.

 

Book launch for kids

Woodend author Dee White’s children’s book about a girl with hearing loss will be launched at Dromkeen, 1012 Kilmore Road, Riddells Creek, on Saturday, September 2, from 2pm. There will be a story reading and a workshop for children, as well as an AUSLAN interpreter.
