My Place: Daniela Tarantello

Daniela Tarantello is the owner of Organic Formulations. The Riddells Creek resident chats with Jessica Micallef about her company and her passion for a healthy environment.

What is your connection to Sunbury and the Macedon Ranges?

I live and work in Riddells Creek.

How long have you lived in the area?

I first moved to Riddells Creek in 1999. I wanted to combine work with the tranquility of a country lifestyle whist having the convenience of being close to the international airport and a smooth freeway to the city.

What are you passionate about?

I am passionate about living a healthy lifestyle in harmony with the environment. I love to learn new ways to improve our lifestyle and share it with everyone. I also enjoy learning about permaculture and spending time in the garden.

Tell me about your company, Organic Formulations.

Organic Formulations is committed to organic and natural … proudly manufacturing quality home and personal care products. By choosing natural and organic, you are creating demand for products that are safe for yourself, your family, your pets and the environment, thus reducing the harmful effects of chemicals. I continue to drive Organic Formulations in the footsteps of innovation, creating new organic and natural products that people enjoy using, whilst contributing to a healthier planet for us and future generations.

When did you form the company?

The company was formed in 2000. It started as a family concern and today employs over 24 dedicated team members. There is nothing more fulfilling than being able to express my passion alongside my company philosophy … some of the top reasons are to create toxic-free homes – for health and wellness, for the planet and for the animals.

What would people be most surprised to know about you?

When I first brought out the brand Riddells Creek Organics, it included the first certified organic toothpastes in Australia … made to food-grade standards. It was launched 19 years ago, and it has been one of the most successful brands exported and sold throughout the health industry.

What are some of the best things about living and working in Sunbury and the Macedon Ranges?

Feeling a part of an artistic culture, visiting the many heritage festivals, cultural events, country markets. I love the sense of community this region inspires.

If you could change one thing about the area, what would it be?

Increase of public transport, especially for the young generation whom heavily rely on their parents to travel.
