The festival of lights came to Wyndham Vale in stunning fashion at the weekend. Thousands of people flocked to Presidents Park on Saturday for a day of food, fun and culture for the fifth annual Wyndham Diwali Festival, based on an ancient Hindu festival that honours the triumph of good over evil. Program director Archana Koorthy said that although Diwali was a traditional Hindu festival, the Wyndham event embraced a “many cultures and one nation” theme, promoting multiculturalism and unity in diversity through music, dance, food and the arts.
