Young people in Melton can join in free dance workshops online and at community centres. The eMotion project, a partnership of Barkly Arts Centre and Arts Centre Melbourne, was set up to celebrate the reopening of the Arts Centre’s Hamer Hall. Young people can attend sessions in person or visit an online site to share dance from different neighbourhoods and cultural backgrounds across the west. Participants can learn choreography created by Demi Sorono from So You Think You Can Dance and Cat Sweeney (pictured), co-founder of western suburb’s dance collective Jungle City Massive. Workshops are at Melton and Kurunjang secondary colleges on Thursdays. Details: emotion-dance.com.
