Sunbury: Boot-scooting for a cause

Esther Davis, Kerry Derrick, Des Harkin and April Walsh are inviting interested people to join them as they kick up their heels for charity. The Rotary Club of Sunbury’s annual country and western dance, at Sunbury’s Memorial Hall from 7pm on May 17, will raise funds for neonatal cribs at the Royal Children’s Hospital. Rotary president Bruce Wallace said the fund-raiser had taken on greater meaning after the baby grandson of a club member survived after being treated in one of the hospital’s cribs. People are being encouraged to dress up in their best country and western gear, with prizes on offer.

There will also be silent auctions and raffles, with all funds going to the sponsorship of a crib. For tickets and details, visit www.rotaryclubsunbury.org.au or phone Des Harkin on 0448 203 850. …
