Leif Louwen-Skovdam had a day out with that ball for Sunbury United as the side looks to keep its top two hopes alive in the Gisborne and District Cricket Association’s B-grade competition.
With the top two sides facing off this week, a United win against East Sunbury could see them move back into the top two and seal a home semi final.
Louwen-Skovdam did most of the damage for United running through the Thunder’s top order, taking four of the first six wickets. The Thunder found themselves in trouble at 6-101.
The Thunder put on a partnership of 27 before it was broken by Louwen-Skovdam.
Louwen-Skovdam took three wickets without the Thunder adding to the scoreboard.
Josh Wallace took the last wicket to ball the Thunder out for 147. Louwen-Skovdam finished with the figures 7-41 off 26 overs including 12 maidens.
Jake Calleja top scored for the Thunder with 32.
In other matches, the batsmen did most of the talking.
Bacchus Marsh, which needs a win and results to go its way to make finals, is well and truly on track for victory against Bacchus Marsh.
The Bulls smacked the ball around the park, going at more than a run a ball, on the way to 5-308 off just 46 overs.
Samuel Rousch top scored with 82 not out.
With 20 overs to bowl at Ashfield, the Bulls went through the top order with Ashfield 5-60 at stumps.
Macedon which currently holds fourth spot, made 221 against St Anthonys.
Nick Dodd top scored making 51.
In the top of the table clash, Lancefield made 253 against Wallan.
