Two Sunbury-based teams were among the winners at Sunbury Netball Association’s annual tournament on Sunday.
Fifty teams from across Melbourne, Sunbury and the Macedon Ranges entered teams in the third year of the tournament, across four age groups.
In a massive result for the home association , the Sunbury Sonics managed to take home the titles in both the under-17s and under-15s.
The under-17s defeated South Bendigo 11-8 in the grand final, while the under-15s defeated the Bendigo Academy 14-11.
In the under-13s open age group, the Bendigo Academy side defeated the Macedon Ranges side, 14-11. In the under-13s reserves, it was so close but so far for the Macedon Ranges again, this time losing to Parkville 9-4.
All competitors in the under-11s received participation medals.
