Sunbury record back-to-back wins

Sunbury United recorded a solid 2-0 win against a winless Moonee Ponds United on Friday night at Langama Park in the Men’s State League 3 North-West.

Ashley Webster scored the first goal just before half-time before Akos Surjan scored a brace in the 70th minute to secure the win.

United have a 4-2 win-loss record after the first six games of the season.

The win marks their second in a row as they head into a big game next week against second placed Heidelberg Eagles SC away from home.

Gisborne also recorded a 2-0 win on the weekend over Golden Plains at Dixon Field Reserve.

The win kept the Golden Plains winless after six games as Gisborne pushed up to fifth with a game in hand.
