Sunbury Netball Association junior tournament a huge success

Players from across the state converged on Sunbury for the Sunbury Netball Association Rosenthal Estate Junior Tournament on Sunday.

Teams from 50 associations fielded teams in three age groups, 11-and under, 13 and under, and 15 and under, with  more than 500 players taking to the court.

This year there was five divisions.

The Sunbury Sonics claimed the 15 and under open division premiership, while the Sonics 13 and under open and reserve teams were runners-up in their divisions.

The 15 and under reserve and 11 and under Sonics teams both won three matches each.

The association’s Mel Lofts said it was a brilliant day with the community getting behind the day to help with the raffle and cake stall.

“With a committee of 10 ladies who are all volunteers and with the support of all our Sunbury Sonics families, our fabulous coaches, assistant coaches and team managers… We were able to hold this exceptional tournament.”
