Sunbury Jets have re-signed two of their basketball stars for next year’s Big V state championship.

Monique Stevens and Chelsea Burns will return for a second season at the Jets, having been key members of the unbeaten team in this year’s division 1.

Stevens was named in the division’s all-star five team, while Burns was the division 1 defensive player of the year.

The Jets’ women’s side will play in the championship division next year.

Meanwhile, the club is advertising for a men’s division 1 coach. It wants the coach to commit to a two to three-year term as it continues to develop its young side. The new coach will replace Andrew Summerville, who guided the team for a single season in which it finished eighth.

Lisa Townsend has been named coach of the men’s youth league team. She joined the club last season as assistant coach with the division 1 women’s side, having coached and played in Women’s National and South East Australian basketball leagues.
