It was a big week for the Gisborne and District Cricket Association representative sides as they took to the pitch all around the state.
Both junior male and female teams were in action, with teams playing in the North Rivers Junior Country Week, Central Highlands Region Junior Male Country Week and Barwon-Central Highlands Championships.
The GDCA’s under-14 girls A team won the final at the North Rivers Junior Country Week and the under-17s fell just short in their final.
It’s the first time the association has sent sides to that competition.
In the Central Highlands Region Junior Male Country Week, the GDCA under-15’s defeated Ballarat in a rain-interrupted final at Darley while Ballarat defeated Gisborne in the under-13 final played at Ballarat.
In the combined regional competition, the Barwon-Central Highlands Championships, the GDCA under-15 and under-17 male teams remain undefeated after five rounds of competition.
The under-15’s will meet Ballarat and the under-17’s will take on Colac in finals on Sunday.
