Lorraine Robb and Mick Nicholls Snr are Romsey Golf Club’s monthly medallists for February. Robb, playing off 32, won the women’s event on Wednesday with a nett 69, from Lelia Beasley (35) on 73. Nicholls (22) won the men’s event on Saturday with a nett 66.

SOFTBALL

It’s finals time for the Sunbury Softball Association and Sherwood Knights will take confidence into the match against Jackson Panthers in the men’s competition on Saturday after an easy win against them in the final home‐and‐away round. Goonawarriors will take on Sunbury Storm in the other men’s semi‐final. In the women’s competition, the Jackson Panthers will face Sunbury Storm and Sherwood Knights take on the Wildcats. In the under‐17s the Dark Knights will play the Goonawarriors and Sherwood Knights will look for victory over Jackson Panthers. Meanwhile the Dark Knights face the Silver Knights in the under‐13s and the Goonawarriors play the White Knights.

Kyneton United’s hopes of a finals spot are still alive after day one of the match with Barkers Creek in the A Reserve competition of Castlemaine and District Cricket Association. Needing a win and for Harcourt to lose against Guildford, United got off to a good start against second‐placed Barkers Creek. United made 246 before being bowled out in the 73 Meanwhile, Harcourt made 114 and Guildford are 4‐64 in reply.

With their finals hopes over, Clarkefield Brumbies are hoping to finish the season on a high with victory over Donnybrook in the North West Metropolitan Cricket Association. Sitting 10 points outside the four going into the final round, the Brumbies are playing for pride against the top side. After day one of the match, the Brumbies are 1‐46 chasing Donnybrook’s 224. Chris Vecchie took six wickets for the Brumbies.
