Netball

Three Riddell District Netball League players will play for the ACU Sovereigns in division 1 of the Victorian Netball League next year. Rupertswood’s Sidonie Moore and Riddell’s Danni Davidson return after playing for the Sovereigns in 2015, while the Sharks’ Tess Abbott joins the side for the first time. The Sharks’ Keara Fitzgerald and Eloise Freeman are part of the Sovereigns’ under-19 team and development squad respectively. Vaughan is part of the championship side, while the Sharks’ Maddison Gay has been named in Lightning’s division 1 team. Sharks teammate Hayley Mathews and Lancefield’s Taylah Watson have been included among the under-19s. Riddell’s Meikah Johns is part of the Lightning’s development squad.
