Several players from Melbourne’s north-west will take to the field at AAMI Park on Sunday as part of the Melbourne Storm female development squad.
The squad will face off against the North Sydney Bears in a one-off clash on Sunday, following the conclusion of the NRL match between the Melbourne Storm and the Wests Tigers.
It’s a historic moment for the club, as it will be the first time the Storm female development program plays at AAMI Park.
“They are excited to be able to finally put on the purple jersey play in front of their friends and families at AAMI Park,” said Storm female pathways manager Pauline Poloai.
“This has been a massive milestone for these girls.”
In the squad includes, Northern Thunder second rowers Rozaliah Matavao and Keira Collins, prop Harmony Taupau, half back Sierra Te’o and full back Dandelian Luamanu.
Sunbury Tigers’ wingers Heather Nasilai and Ashley Roache, and centre Desirae Ah-Loo; Werribee Bears’ centres Leisi Kirirua-Gill and Pearl Potesio, Mahlia Davys and hooker Eleksia Finau;
and Altona Roosters’ Gina Aiono are also in the squad.
Other members include Melton Broncos’ Sina Tofilau and Oriana Ioane, and Truganina Rabbitohs’ props Leearna Aumau, Jailah Vanilau and DeAndrea Morgan, Mya Craig and lock Taylor Marama.
