New focus on sports

Macedon Ranges sport clubs can now seek sports-related advice at local drop-in sessions.

Sports Focus – a not-for-profit-organisation based in Bendigo which supports sport clubs across the Loddon Campaspe region – is offering free information sessions.

Project co-ordinator Tamarra Ferguson said the sessions provided clubs the opportunity to meet with the Sports Focus team face-to-face.

“We understand that it’s difficult for local clubs outside the area to meet with us face-to-face,” she said.

“We want to give the clubs the opportunity to meet with us … in their home towns and have a chat about issues or ask questions, whether it’s about admin, programming, participating [or] community development.

“We welcome any sports. We are a regional sports assembly. We cover the Loddon Campaspe region. We will be conducting hese drop-in sessions in each of the six local government areas, with the Macedon Ranges being one of them.”

The sessions will be held once a month at different locations throughout the Macedon Ranges.

“I will go to Kyneton, Gisborne, Romsey because it’s such a big area,” Ms Ferguson said.

“We are excited to provide this opportunity to sporting clubs through our regions and we look forward to meeting sporting clubs face-to-face.”

The next Macedon Ranges drop-in session is expected to be on Thursday, March 26. Details to be confirmed.
