Children taking part in school holiday clinics at Goonawarra Golf Club will have access to free equipment if they find the sport is to their liking.
Instructor Carol Leaney will walk boys and girls through the golfing basics as part of workshops on July 5 and 6.
Those who decide to continue with golf will be given their own clubs, thanks to funding provided by Sunbury Rotary Club.
‘‘If they sign up to a seven-week program, we give them two golf clubs, a seven iron and a putter each,’’ Leaney says. “Most people think golf is expensive, but it doesn’t have to be. This kind of gives them a free go, to find out if they want to go on with their golf.”
A free beginners’ clinic is on July 5.
Limited spots are also available for one or two-day workshops, which will be followed by a nine-hole competition with prizes.
Bookings are essential.
