Ryan Davies and Simon Donovan have claimed the Romsey Golf Club W.E Tom Shield.
Facing Mick Squire and Jim Patton in the grand final on Saturday, it was a battle between two old stagers and two up and comers.
The weather was almost perfect, with handicaps coming into play and on many occasions a birdie was needed to halve a hole.
Davies and Donovan won 4/3 to claim one of the club’s oldest trophies.
In the Saturday Stableford competition, competitors faced the challenges of the course and it took many players quite a few holes to come to grips with the conditions.
Almost all the field had ordinary front nines, before stepping it up in the back half. For many, the damage was already done.
Toby Clement won on count back from Mal Mottram with Rob Slade third.
In the Wednesday competition, the format was Irish Threesomes.
The Threesomes format required teams of three to record all scores on the par 3s, two scores on the par 4s and the best score of the group on the par 5s.
Kath Jekabsons, Jenny Hartley and Bruce Robb combined well to take home the trophy.
Two past members Shirley Shelton and Mary Campbell were among those to take to the course playing a fun round of Stablelford.
