Ryan Davies came out on top in challenging conditions to claim the Romsey Golf Club monthly medal.

Playing the strokes and putts competition on Saturday, competitors were met with lush fairways and greens in very good condition however, anyone who found themselves in the wet rough had to be very careful.

They also had to deal with some soggy, low spots on a few of the fairways but players usually got good value for well struck shots, while the moisture certainly tested everyone’s patience with numerous putts pulling up well short of the cup.

On a challenging afternoon, Ryan Davies won from Steve Wilkins and Scott Williams.

In the Algie Mitchell semi final held during the week, Mal Mottram defeated Jim Patton.

On Wednesday in the Mulligans competition, Rob Slade continued on his winning way winning on 68.

Jenny Hartley played consistently and wasn’t far behind on 72.

Chris Manktelow took best advantage of the Mulligans rule by improving his shot every time.
