Two Riddell District Netball League teams have announced coaching changes ahead of the 2024 season.
Ty Coppinger has been announced as the coach of Woodend- Hesket for both A and B grade.
Coppinger has been with the club for two years now and captained the A grade premiership team this year.
Not only did she captain the side, she was also awarded the Ryan medal for the league’s best and fairest. She was one of three who took out the award, sharing it with Riddell’s Ellen Close and Wallan’s Gemma Grimmond.
Via social media the club said it is excited to have Coppinger at the helm.
“She is an extremely talented player who brings with her a wealth of knowledge and experience gained from years of playing and coaching,” it said.
“Ty played an integral part in supporting Meg [Grbac] this season and the whole netball squad is delighted that Ty will be taking over and continuing to build on the success of the netball program.
“The club would also like to sincerely thank Meg Grbac for her outstanding contribution at the club over three years. Meg leaves as our first premiership coach and we hope to see her back at the Hawks in the years to come.”
Macedon also announced a coaching change, after coming seventh following a five win season.
Katie Clarke will take over the role at the Cats. Clarke started coaching over two decades ago.
Via social media the club said her experience and dynamic personality aligns perfectly with the direction it is heading in 2024.
The three year deal sees Clarke commit to the Cats until 2026.
