A new Essendon District Football League division 2 fixture has been released following the withdrawal of Jacana from the competition. There is no longer a bye for teams, but they will play 16 matches across 18 rounds with two split rounds. The Sunbury Kangaroos will start their season against Burnside Heights, while East Sunbury makes their return to senior competition against the Northern Saints. The two Sunbury teams will play each other on May 27 and again on July 22.

Ballarat NL

The Sunbury Lions have finalised their A-grade side for the upcoming Ballarat Netball League season. Eliza Gollant joins the club and is the club’s final link in their defensive end. Gollant previously played in the Victorian Netball League with Melbourne University. Tayla Honey, Ruth Smith, Elly Randall, Georgia Hellyer, Tara O’Grady, Freya Langston and Sophie O’Kane in the Lions squad.

Two more Melton premiership players are seeking to move to Diggers Rest for the Riddell District Football League season. Clearances have been put in for Jaycob and Lachlan Hickey to join the Burras. Jaycob was named in the best eight times last season, while Lachlan kicked 19 goals. The Burras had previously announced that Mark Orr, who was also at the Bloods last season, would be joining the club. Jake Brown and Josh Flower are among the other new signings for the Burras.,

The Sunbury Kangaroos have signed Moonee Valley forward Jack Vivian for this year’s Essendon District Football League division 2 season. Vivian reunites with former Fog coach Shanon Carroll at the Kangaroos. Vivian kicked 19 goals in 14 games in division 1 last season. The Kangaroos have also announced the re-signings of Dean Halliwell and Matthew Leonard.
