Ballarat FL

The Sunbury Lions had one of their best performances of the Ballarat Football League season, beating Melton South 19.13 (127)-10.8 (68). The Lions jumped out of the blocks with seven goals in the first quarter and were able to respond when the Panthers came at them in the third quarter. Jake Sutton kicked six goals and Leigh Brennan kicked four. Mitchell Lewis was named their best.

RDNL

Riddell moved into the Riddell District Netball League top five despite having a bye on the weekend. With the Western Rams losing to Diggers Rest, the four points from the bye was enough to bring the Bombers level on points with the Rams. With a superior percentage they are now in a finals spot. In other results, an understrength Macedon lost a thriller with Wallan, Lancefield got its second win of the season against Romsey and Woodend-Hesket was too strong for Melton Centrals.

FV

Gisborne claimed the full three points but it wasn’t without a scare in the FV state league 4 west competition. On the road to Surf Coast, the Sky Blues won 3-2. The win ensures the Sky Blues will finish no lower than fourth. The Sky Blues have three matches remaining. In state league 3 north-west, Sunbury United had a 2-2 draw with the Western Eagles.
