Macedon fell short in the Gisborne and District Cricket Association Johnstone Shield. Sent in, the Cats were bowled out by Romsey for 150 on the final ball of the innings. Gareth De Rosayro top scored with 30. Romsey made the runs in the 38th over, finishing 5-151. Nathan Aikman took 2-4 off 1.3 overs and Chris Ingleton 2-20 off five overs.

Big V

A big second half secured the Sunbury Jets a win against Western Port on Saturday. Down by one point at half time, the Jets came out firing in the second half to seal the 89-72 win. Ish Sanders top scored with 26 points. The Jets backed it up on Sunday against the Blackburn Vikings, winning 105-72. The Jets won every quarter convincely with every player getting onto the court. Sanders top scored with 21. The Jets women suffered a 69-54 loss to Pakenham Warriors. The Warriors outscored the Jets 28-18 in the final quarter to seal the win. Hannah Markov scored 15 points off the bench.

Soccer

Sunbury United had a big win Sebastopol Vikings on Saturday in FV state league 3 north-west. Sunbury scored twice in the first half, before piling on the goals in the second half, to secure the 5-0 win. Ashley Webster scored a hat-trick. Sunbury this week face Diamond Valley United this week. In state league 4 west, Gisborne remains without a win after two rounds, losing to Laverton 4-3.

Bowls

Lancefield has claimed the Central Highlands Bowls Division top division title, beating Kyneton Golf. Lancefield won one of the three rinks and tied the other, to claim the win 64 (13)-56 (3). Jeffrey Holmes was the winning skip for Lancefield, winning 26-12. In division 2, Kyneton Golf beat Romsey and in division 3, Gisborne beat Diggers Rest.
