Adams takes St Albans Gift sash

It was a worthwhile trek west for speedy youngster Hamish Adams, who took out the 2019 St Albans Gift.

The flying 20-year-old from Ringwood swooped on the winners sash in the 120 metre open main event at Kings Park Reserve on Saturday night.

Adams hit the finish line in an adjusted time of 12.601 seconds, pipping Matt Burleigh (12.611) and Leigh Phelan (12.615) in a tight battle.

It was a busy day at the St Albans Gift with 11 races on the card.

Megan McMahon stood atop the podium after claiming the 120 metre women’s race. McMahon won in an adjusted time of 14.409, finishing in front of Kirsty Stevens (14.455) and Danielle McDowell (14.564).
