A new grant is helping bring Youth Fest to the Macedon Ranges.
Macedon MP Mary-Anne Thomas announced that Macedon Ranges Shire Council will receive a grant to design, plan and deliver an event during Youth Fest in September 2025.
Council will host a Live4Life Community Youth Mental Health First Aid Course, which will deliver a certified course for educators, parents and community leaders.
Participants will learn how to identify mental health issues in young people, offer initial support and refer them to services.
The initiative aims to reduce stigma, increase local capacity for mental health support, and create a more proactive and informed community.
“Congratulations to our local recipients,“ Ms Thomas said.
“These grants help communities put on inclusive, affordable events to make sure young people – especially in regional Victoria – have access to fun and support, close to home.”
Youth Fest celebrates young Victorians by funding fun, creative and inclusive events, designed and led by young people themselves.
Schools, local councils and community organisations will use funding to deliver events including art exhibitions, cultural events, sports days and youth awards.
Youth Fest will run from Monday, September 1 until Tuesday, September 30.
