Get ready for the sweet smell of fairy floss and the buttery bang of popcorn in Woodend – the St Ambrose Community Carnival is back.
Previous carnivals have attracted crowds of more than 2000 – and St Ambrose Parish Primary School principal Des Noack is confident this year’s event will be a similar drawcard.
“The carnival is not just for our school and parish, but for the whole town,” Mr Noack
said.
“The event itself highlights generosity of spirit of the people in this town and how we can all come together as a community when we need to.
“What better way to celebrate what makes Woodend special than to come together amongst the beautiful autumn colours with great entertainment and food?”
Carnival attendees can expect to enjoy classic favourites such as pop-up stalls, music, kid’s activities, food, entertainment and rides to scare even the bravest.
Children will get chances to enjoy lolly hunts, cupcake decorating, face-painting and coloured hair spraying.
Traditional carnival favourites such as dodgem cars and the cup-and-saucer ride will also be on hand to entertain.
The carnival will feature some star power this year when it hosts record-holding STIHL Timbersports woodchoppers Blake, Kyle and Brayden Meyer.
The St Ambrose Community Carnival will be on Saturday, March 16, from 10am-3pm at St Ambrose Parish Primary School.
