It’s been a rainy and wet year for grape growers across the country, but now summer is here, Macedon Ranges winemakers are ready to celebrate with a month-long festival of wine.

From January 7 to 29, the Summertime Fling Festival will take off for the third time, each weekend showing off a different selection of events hosted by a range of local wineries.

At Zig Zag Winery, treat yourself to BBQ, wine and summertime beats, or enjoy a special tasting at Hunter Gatherer. For something fancier, join Attwoods Wines winemaker Troy Walsh for a five-course lunch with great matched wine, or indulge in Lyons Will’s Food + Fire + Wine culinary journey curated by Danish born chef Bente Grysbaek.

All of this and much more will be available to residents and visitors enjoying the country’s coolest viticultural region.

Macedon Ranges Vignerons Association president and Lyons Will Estate owner Renata Morello said she was excited to see the festival back again.

“It is an opportunity to sit back and relax and enjoy the summer vibes while exploring some of our regions great wines,” she said.

“We would love people to come for [more than] just one event… why not book in for something each weekend, there is plenty on offer.

“Summer is a great time in the vineyard, and a time to celebrate the season to come.”
