Here’s what’s on in Sunbury and Macedon Ranges this October.

Pool party

The pool inflatable will return to Gisborne and Kyneton’s aquatic centres for the spring school holidays. Until Friday, October 6, the inflatable is in the pool at Gisborne Aquatic Centre from 1-3pm. Kyneton Toyota Sports and Aquatic Centre will have the inflatable available on Wednesday, September 27, Monday, October 2, Wednesday, October 4, and Friday, October 6, from 12.30-2.30pm. Pool entry cost $5 a child.

 

Second-hand book sales

Drop in for a cuppa, homemade cakes (no charge) and chat in a friendly atmosphere at St Andrew’s Uniting Church. Secondhand books are also for sale at cheap prices. Located on the corner of Brook and Barkly Streets, Sunbury, the church is open on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays, from 9am-2.30pm.

Elvis is back in the building

Sunbury Historical & Heritage Society Inc is presenting an Elvis Tribute Show (Andrew Portelli and his Showgirls) on Saturday, October 21, at Sunbury Bowling Club, Riddell Road, Sunbury from 7.30pm (8pm start). A light supper will be provided. Tickets $40 per person and must be prepaid.

Cultural celebration

Sunbury Aboriginal Incorporation and Sunbury Community Health are hosting a free community event. Monday, October 2, from 11am-3pm at Sunbury Neighbourhood House.

Storybook exhibition

A collection of original Australian children’s picture book illustrations is on display at Kyneton Museum. The works of artists such as Freya Blackwood, Terry Denton, Leigh Hobbs and Anna Walker are available for viewing. The museum is open Friday to Sunday from 11am-4pm.

Psychic and natural therapy
