Western Water funds community projects

A new sensory garden in the centre of Riddells Creek is just one example of the successful projects funded by a Western Water scheme.

Riddells Creek Park Upgrade Committee member Narelle McGellin says the reflective space, part of a larger upgrade of Lions Park, is being enjoyed by many people in the community.

‘‘We’ve had so much great feedback from residents about how the new garden has improved the park,’’ she says.

Western Water is inviting community and environmental groups in Sunbury and the Macedon Ranges to apply for up to $2000 as part of its annual grants program.

Three grants are on offer: one for community gardens, one for school gardens, and the other for projects to improve biodiversity and liveability. All projects must be within Western Water’s service area.

Entries close September 30.
