A 34-year-old Wildwood man has been arrested by police as a part of their investigation into the suspicious disappearance of Adrian Romeo.

During a search of a property on Wildwood Road, police seized a firearm, ammunition and drugs from the location and four stolen vehicles have also been located.

A number of dwellings and dams on the property were also searched as part of today’s warrant.

The man will be interviewed by police in relation to the items found at his property.

Today’s warrant follows a public appeal for information by police on Sunday, July 21 as part of the investigation into Mr Romeo’s disappearance in February.

The 43-year-old Craigieburn man was last seen by his family about 5.30pm on Saturday, February 10, at his Dempster Drive address.

He told his parents he was going to a property in Greenvale.

He has not contacted any family or friends since.

Mr Romeo’s family reported him missing on Monday, February 12.

Homicide squad boss Dean Thomas said police received anonymous information indicating there were people who knew Mr Romeo’s movements “at the very end”.

“I appeal to those people that have provided that information that they contact Crime Stoppers or their nearest police station so that we can pursue further investigations in relation to the information they have,”h he said.

Mr Romeo’s disappearance has been deemed out of character. He had little involvement with police and there was nothing to suggest he had links to organised crime.

His cousin, Charlie, described him as a loving and caring person.

“He was loved by a lot of people. How this happened … we don’t know,” he told reporters.

“The family is distraught. We are holding on to hope … waiting for him to walk through the door.”
