Volunteers to a tea

A morning tea celebrating the many dedicated volunteers of Wyndham will be held next week.

Wyndham council will host the free event in Werribee on Tuesday (May 9) from 9am.

Volunteers from all over Wyndham have been invited to the event, which will include prizes and entertainment.

The event will be held during National Volunteers Week, which is aimed at recognising the work of Australia’s unpaid helpers and workers.

Wyndham mayor Henry Barlow said there were more than 12,000 volunteers in the municipality.

“The broader community reaps the rewards of the time these volunteers donate on a daily basis, and this morning tea is just a small way to thank them for all they do,” he said.

“Whether it’s through Meals on Wheels, the home library service, crisis support services or the hundreds of other ways they generously offer up their time – we thank them.”

The morning tea will be held at the Wyndham Civic Centre, 45 Princes Highway, Werribee.
