A Macedon Ranges author has collaborated with Gold Logie winner John Wood in recent novel.
The USA Today bestselling author, Phillipa Clark released her latest murder mystery novel, Lest We Forgive, on March 28.
This novel will be John Wood’s first fiction audiobook narration and follows mystery set in the outer western suburbs of Melbourne, including areas between Gisborne and Bacchus Marsh.
“I have lived in Macedon for about 25 years so it was natural for me to want to include a lot of regional areas [in the novel],” she said.
Ms Clark said the story started as a screenplay 17 years ago and when she started to adapt it into a novel last year she knew she wanted Mr Wood to narrate it.
“In the back of my mind John always reminded me of … Vince Carter, my main character … or Vince reminded me of John.
“In my head, every time I was writing Vince, I could see John Woods.”
Ms Clark said she held off on contacting Mr Woods because she was “terrified” of asking him.
“I really wanted John to narrate it but I was terrified, it’s such a big thing to ask someone of his status.
“I got the courage and contacted his agent and… within a week he had come back [after reading it] and said he absolutely loved it.”
Ms Clark said the recording and production of the narration was done in Melbourne and the audiobook should be released on most subscription services soon.
