The Australian Services Union (ASU) members working at Hume council have decided to cancel their strike, which was originally slated to occur this morning.

Yesterday, Star Weekly reported that Hume council staff members that are members of the ASU would strike this morning from 8.30 am to 12pm to protest unsatisfactory wage increase negotiations with their employer.

However the ASU has since confirmed the strike has been called off and all members of staff will report to their duty as normal.

“Hume council has made a revised pay offer that will be put to members of the ASU, for their consideration,” a ASU spokesperson said.

The union will meet with council today to consider the new agreement.
