The Macedon Ranges Obedience Dog Club celebrated its 40th anniversary in style.
Club president Ben Were said past and present club members and their dogs commemorated 40 years of business with a function at the club on Sunday.
“It’s a great feat in itself because some clubs have not lasted that long and it’s great that we’ve been able to keep going for that period of time,” he said.
Mr Were credited the club’s success over four decades to the many volunteers who have dedicated their time.
“It’s not a one person effort, it’s a team effort,” he said. “We’ve got close to 20 volunteers that make the club tick. We have one lady and she’s been volunteering for 20 years.
“They [the volunteers] enjoy working with dogs and they give their time to help other people.”
